Some brave souls got a chance to take a dive on the wild side this weekend.
Saturday marked the 10th annual “Polar Plunge and Strut” at Lake Shawnee.
The temperature was not quite 25 degrees but that didn’t keep people from showing their support for “special Olympics Kansas.”
Some of us from work got together and thought it would be a really awesome idea to get together,” says Paul Miller, a participant at the event. “It seems nuts but to get together for a good cause, it’s definitely well worth it.”
Each person who walked or ran into the water paid 75 dollars. The event generated about 35 thousand dollars for Special Olympics Kansas Athletes.
