Topeka family brings Olympic event to their home

homemade luge

A Topeka family is bringing an Olympic event to their own backyard.

Mike Sterling built a homemade luge. He says he got the idea after his brother in law built one in Manhattan. Sterling says the course took four hours to build over the weekend.

He and some helpers built a smaller track before moving on to the longer one you see in the video.

He says the final result is more than 400 feet long.
