Topeka man sentenced for sexual assault

A 35-year-old father was sentenced to life in prison on Friday in connection with the on-going sexual assault of a child in the family.

Lucas Tyler Hall, of Topeka, declined to say anything before Shawnee County District Court Judge Richard Anderson imposed the life sentence. Hall will have to serve 25 years in prison become he can first be considered for release.

On Dec. 12, Tyler pleaded no contest to one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child younger than 14 where the offender is 18 or older. As part of the plea, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy were dismissed without prejudice, court records said.

The abuse started when the child was 4 and surfaced in July when the victim, 6, told her mother.
