Kiev, Ukraine– A Topeka family, stranded in Ukraine during violent protests and now, a change in government power, still waits for word they can come home. Don and Lisa Jenkins are in Ukraine to bring home their newly adopted children: 3 teen girls and a 9 year old boy.
The family has been there since earlier this month when protests turned violent.
They’re trying to get passports for the kids so they can travel to the United States. Monday will be a crucial day they tell Kansas First News: they hope the passport offices will be open and can process the needed paperwork for their children so they can get home.
If all goes well Don and Lisa hope to be back in Kansas this week.
