Jenkin’s family 1 step closer to coming home

The Jenkins family

Monday is the first working day new leaders have been in charge of Ukraine’s Government. It’s also the first time the Jenkin’s family from Topeka has received some good news about getting out of the country and back home.

Don and Lisa Jenkins learned Monday that the government has printed passports for 2 or their 4 newly adopted children. The kids need passports to travel to the U.S. but Ukrainian Government workers have been slow to process the paperwork first citing the protests and then computer problems.

Don and Lisa have been in Ukraine since earlier this month when protests turned into a small scale civil war. They’re staying just half a mile from Kiev’s Independence Square, the center of these protests.

Happy to have at least half the passports they need, Don said he and his wife know they still must wait.
