Two overnight chases end in arrests

Topeka police officers  were  busy this morning trying to stop drivers that ended in crashes.

The first happened right before 12:30 am.

Officers tried to stop a vehicle at Harrison and North Topeka Boulevard.
The pursuit went north into Jackson County…and turned back into Shawnee County.

It ended near Lower Silver Lake Road and Highway 75 when the driver struck stop sticks.

Allen Burgett  was taken to the hospital for screening and later  booked for felony flee and elude.

A second shorter pursuit started at 6th and  MacVicar around 2:15 Thursday morning.

It ended when the driver struck a concrete barrier in the 800 block of MacVicar.

Edward Lufkin was arrested for fleeing and elude among other charges.

No injuries were reported during that pursuit.
