Schools, businesses and people state-wide were encouraged to run tornado drills Tuesday in preparation for tornado season.
It’s an annual drill that shows people what to do when a tornado warning is issued.
Tuesday’s drill gave students and teachers a chance to learn where the safest spots are in the building.
Kansas had 56 tornadoes in 2013, including 15 in one day according to the National Weather Service, 45 of those 56 hit in May.
Seaman School District Officials say these drills are taken very seriously.
