A man charged with a December shooting at a Manhattan motel was in court Tuesday.
Thirty-three year old Dustin Monroe of Wamego appeared in Pottawatomie County District Court Tuesday morning.
Monroe is charged with aggravated assault. On December 10, 2013, police were called to the Quality Inn and Suites in Manhattan on reports of a man shooting a gun in the parking lot.
They say when Monroe ignored officers’ orders to drop his weapon and kept firing, police shot him several times.
On Tuesday his attorney said that plea negotiations were ongoing and requested a preliminary hearing and bond reduction, that hearing is set for April 25, 2014.
