Burn ban issued across Douglas County

Extremely dry air conditions in Douglas County are pushing fire officials to issue a burn ban across the area.

Douglas County Emergency Management issued the ban effective until April 16 or until further notice.

During that time, certain activities are prohibited outdoors, including careless use and disposal of cigarettes, cigars and pipes. The use of fire or campfire besides those in permanent fireplaces or outdoor grills is also prohibited and you’re also not allowed to burn fields, trash, debris or other materials.
