KU students will no longer have to pay a $25 athletic fee.
The Lawrence Journal World reports Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little agreed Thursday to a student senate vote to get rid of it.
Kansas First News first brought you the story two weeks ago when the student senate made the decision.
The school uses the $25 to make sure the school is following federal title 9 regulations.
Some student leaders said they shouldn’t have to foot the bill.
The Lawrence Journal World reports a $19 fee will be put in its place – $12 to pay off debt on the student recreation fitness center and $7 to go to university athletics programs.
