(NBC News) Officials have added more names to the list of confirmed mudslide victims in Oso, Washington.
27 people are now confirmed dead, and 22 more are still missing.
Most of the names on the list of missing had addresses on Steelhead Drive; homes hugging the north fork of the Stillaguamaish River.
“In some cases the depth of the debris and mud and dirt is over 70 feet deep,” says Carrie Stevens from the Washington Department of Emergency Management.
In the standing water left behind after heavy rainfall over the weekend, search dogs have alerted on possible human remains.
As those waters recede, crews are moving in to dig.
