Topeka man sentenced for 2013 Lawrence shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – A Topeka man was sentenced Monday for federal charges after a shooting in Lawrence last year.

Thirty year old Steven Gigger was sentenced to more than five and a half years in federal prison for one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Gigger was arrested after a disturbance at Club Magic in Lawrence on May 19, 2013.

Police found two Topeka men a few blocks away from the club with gunshot wounds.

Gigger and 21-year-old Erick Smith were arrested in Topeka the day after the shooting.

In November, Smith was sentenced to three years in prison for his involvement in the shooting.
