The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is now a designated “Family Place Library.”
That means it is a learning environment for very young children. The library supports the essential role of parents during a child’s first few years of early brain development. According to the Family Place Libraries organization, research shows that the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of a child helps build a foundation for learning.
The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is 1 of 27 libraries in eight states to be honored.
