The name of the man who was shot yesterday during the warrant service in North Topeka has been identified as 39-year-old Gary Keith Davis. He remains under medical care at a local hospital.
TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Topeka Police Officers responded to a mobile home park on reports of shots fired Monday afternoon.
According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office at 1:15 p.m. the SCSO assisted the Federal Fugitive Task Force in executing a felony warrant at 106 NW Highway 24.
While searching the residence, a Shawnee County Sheriff’s Officer shot a suspect who was hiding in the residence.
The suspect, who was shot in the leg, was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
In accordance with policy, the officer involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave.
Sheriff Herman Jones has requested the Topeka Police Department to conduct an investigation of the incident.
The incident is being called an “officer involved shooting”
