MANHATTAN, Kan. (KSNT) – Private fundraising is being considered for renovations planned for the Peace Auditorium in Manhattan.
This week the city commission asked the city manager’s office to work with the main group working to preserve the memorial. Original renovation plans had called for the stage to be torn out, but residents worked to save it. Work on the stage and gym will add up to $850,000. The total cost of the project is $3.8 million dollars. New parks and recreation offices are part of the plan.
The city is developing strategies for the commission’s may 6th meeting.
