Motorcyclist dies after crash in Topeka

According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, a Topeka man has died after a motorcycle accident yesterday.

Shawnee County Deputies say 42-year-old Jerry Johnston Jr. died from his injuries Saturday afternoon.

42-year-old Jerry Johnston, Jr. was taken to the hospital with critical injuries after his motorcycle crashed into an SUV. It happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday on 29th and Indian Hills Road.

Deputies say the SUV was on 29th when it took a left hand turn onto Indian Hills, it then collided with the motorcycle. Deputies believe that the SUV failed to yield when turning left to the motorcycle.

Johnston was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
