RoadRunners drop 2nd straight as Bulls force game five

Amarillo's Eric Purcell scored the go-ahead goal in the 2nd period as the Bulls forced a game five in Amarillo.

TOPEKA, Kan. – For the second straight night the Topeka RoadRunners let an early advantage slip away against the Amarillo Bulls in the NAHL South Division Finals. Topeka led 1-0 after the first period when Cody Champagne scored a powerplay goal. Amarillo owned the second period with a pair goals.

The third period started with a goal by Topeka’s Daniel Rzavsky just :46 into the frame, his second in as many night. However, the Bulls took the lead for good with goals by the Mitchells – McPherson and Vanderburgh. McPherson added another goal to give the Bulls a 5-2 victory.

The series now shifts to Amarillo for a winner-take-all game five on Monday night.
