There’s a new effort to help foster parents in Kansas.
“The need for foster parents is very great,” says Tim Wilson. “As a matter of fact, we found out that in Kansas alone, there are over 5,000 children that are in the foster care system. In the united states, there are over 400,000 children that need loving homes.”
The Kansas Department for Children and Families announced a new position, Foster Care and Family Services Ombudsman.
The position will serve foster parents who have specific issues or concerns that need to be addressed.
A toll free number will also be established for foster parents to call when they need help.
