RoadRunners outlast Bruins in scoring frenzy

The Topeka RoadRunners capture game one of the NAHL Robertson Cup semifinals against the Austin Bruins, 7-5.

Topeka, Kan. – The Topeka RoadRunners and Austin Bruins exchanged a dozen goals but it was the home team that came out on top winning 7-5 in game one of the Robertson Cup semifinals.

Each team scored three goals in the first period and added one goal each in the second frame. However, it was Jerad Tefoya’s two goals in a span of  36 seconds that lifted the RoadRunners for good. Jake Kamrass added an empty net goal to give Topeka the 7-5 victory.

Game two of the best-of-three series is Saturday night at Landon Arena.
