TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Ag Hall at the Kansas Expocentre was buzzing Monday.
Congress woman Lynn Jenkins hosted her fifth annual jobs fair Monday morning, with more than 900 Kansans visiting with nearly 70 employers.
The employers like Mars Chocolate North America and Blue Cross and Blue Shield have an estimated 1,030 jobs to fill.
Monday’s event was free and open the public.
Congresswoman Jenkins says it’s all about connecting employers with Kansans looking for work.
“The intent is it’s a free opportunity for folks to make a match and hopefully some employees found a good rewarding career here today and hopefully some employers could find some hard working Kansans to employ.”
A varity of industries were also represented like manufacturing to financial services, even government jobs for a variety of departments in the state like Corrections or the Department of Revenue and Topeka Public Schools.
