TOPEKA, Kan. – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. paid a visit to Seaman H.S. on Thursday afternoon.
Earnhardt spent some time with students during an assembly. Seaman head baseball coach Steve Bushnell gave Earnhardt a Vikings jersey and hat with the No. 88 embroidered on the apparel.
“He’s one of the most recognizable faces in sports, let alone just being a great NASCAR driver,” Bushnell said.
The Seaman football team also gave Earnhardt a helmet to add to his collection.
“It will be pretty cool because everybody collects something and I collect football helmets,” Earnhardt told the audience. “I probably have 40 NFL helmets and about 150 college helmets so I’ll put this on this shelf with them, thanks a lot and good luck to everybody.”
