Kansas City, Mo. – Lindenwood’s Pierre Desire was taken in the fourth round of the NFL draft today. The cornerback is the second MIAA player taken in the draft after John Brown was selected by the Arizona Cardinals last night.
Desir was taken with the 127th pick overall by the Cleveland Browns. The last MIAA player taken in the fourth round was Allen Barbe of Missouri Southern in 2007 and fourth in the top four rounds since that season.
Desir was named first team All-MIAA last season and was also named an All-American last season.
Notes: Twelve student-athletes from the MIAA have been selected in the draft since 2000 and Brown marks the fifth so far since 2010. MIAA players have been members of the last two super bowl winning football teams.
