Finishing touches are being made to Phase II of the St. Francis Health Emergency Department renovation project, and staff will begin using the new space on Wednesday. Included in Phase II renovations were a new public entrance and patient registration/waiting area, as well as additional exam rooms.
The three-phase project includes a complete, 10-million dollar renovation of the St. Francis Health Emergency Department. When completed later this year, the renovated department will feature 20,000 additional square feet of space, including expanded trauma care, a new senior care area and major cardiac/chest pain care facilities.
Phase I of the project was completed and became operational in November 2013.
