TOPEKA – If high speeds, loud engines and drag racing appeals to you, Heartland Park Topeka is the place to be this weekend.
“It’s like a human slingshot that we’re back in,” NHRA Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett said.
Drivers will go from 0 to 300+MPH in fewer than four seconds.
“We always see the big numbers here,” NHRA Funny Car driver Robert Hight said. “There’s been a lot of records set over the years, we just love it here.”
It’s the 26th annual event for NHRA racing in Topeka.
“It’s going to be a great show,” NHRA Funny Car driver Tommy Johnson Jr. said. “The way the cars have been running all season, the classes are so competitive, everybody is running well.”
The Kansas National begin on Friday with qualifying stages at Heartland Park Topeka.
