State swimming finals

TOPEKA, Kan. –

5-1A: In the girls 200-yard freestyle, Seaman freshman McKynley Larson was edged out by Kaitlynn Blattner, another freshman, from Wichita Heights.

Due to injury, Larson couldn’t compete in the 500, which she was the top qualifier for.

Shawnee Heights Hanna McGowan placed third in the 200-yard IM, and won the 100-yard breaststroke. She was also named one of three, ‘Swimmers of the Meet’.

Topeka West’s Laura Dicus finished 4th in both the 50-yard freestyle and the100-yard backstroke.

6A: Washburn Rural’s Laurel Haley placed 4th in the 50-yard freestyle, while Manhattan’s Amanda Buckwalter also came in 4th in the 500-yard freestyle.
