LOS ANGELES, Cali. – The Kansas City Royals scored three runs in the top of the 13th inning and hung on to beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-4 on Saturday night.
Eric Hosmer was four-for-seven with an RBI and two runs scored. Mike Trout homered for the Angels.
The Royals scored three runs in the 13th on a throwing error on an attempted sacrifice bunt, a Nori Aoki single, and a Billy Butler sacrifice fly.
Greg Holland pitched the bottom of the 13th and record the save.
The rubber match of the series is Sunday afternoon at 2:35 CT.
