TOPEKA – (May 28, 2014) – A release from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said that free child identification kits will be available at upcoming events in Wichita and Topeka,
The attorney general’s office, in partnership with Cox Communications,will offer kits that allow parents to keep their child’s fingerprints, height, weight and a current photo on hand. Information like this can be used by law enforcement to help quickly locate a child that goes missing.
“Taking a few minutes to plan ahead and discuss safety measures with your children can help keep them safe from harm,” Schmidt said. “Keeping an identification kit with your children’s current information is one easy step that can help them stay safe.”
The kits will be available in Topeka at Westridge Mall, outside of the Old Navy store, on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In Wichita, kits will be available at the Cox Kids’ Corner at Riverfest, May 30 through June 7.
