Council Grove’s city council is estimating a cost of nearly $200,000 to demolish a building that began collapsing Monday.
It’s a story we first brought you Thursday.
The building owner is unable to pay for contractor fees.
So the city took over the project and will run all costs through the land owner and lean owner through real estate fees.
Riley construction out of Manhattan was hired for demolition.
Work is expected to begin Saturday and emergency workers will be on standby.
They hope to have it done by Monday.
