Selective Traffic Enforcement Program numbers released from Memorial Day Weekend

Topeka Police have released the numbers from their Selective Traffic Enforcement Program over the Memorial Day Weekend.

The focus was on adult, teen and child restraint as well as texting.

Over the entire weekend 1,188 charges were filed. 991 were for adult seatbelt, 31 for teenage seatbelt, 9 for child restraint and 4 for texting.

153 were for other charges like drivers license violation, no insurance or speeding.
