Charitable donors have an opportunity to make their dollar go a little farther Tuesday. The Topeka Community Foundation is at Fairlawn Plaza until 6 Tuesday night, asking for community donations and in return, providing 35,000 dollars in a matched donation.

Donors can give their money to more than 110 local non-profits, many of which are tabling at the mall.

This is the second year for the Topeka Gives event and organizers say the success is weighed in more than just dollars.

“We’re donor services and grant makers and community conveners,” says Marsha Pope, V.P. of Topeka Community Foundation. “On a day like this when we can bring people together around charitable giving and show people what a difference charitable giving can have in our community, it’s a good day.”

If you’re interested in donating, you have until 6 Tuesday night.

The Topeka Community Foundation will be back at Fairlawn Plaza next Tuesday. They will announce the total amount raised and present checks to today’s participating non-profits.
