It was a very close call for a Washington state man. As he mourned the loss of his grandfather, he was nearly shot by a pre-schooler playing with a loaded handgun.
Kyle Godfrey needed a break, and it almost killed him.
When the 21-year-old couldn’t handle the emotion during his grandfather’s funeral at the Hoquiam, Washington Elks Lodge Sunday afternoon, he went for a walk.
Moments later a 5-year-old boy shot at him.
“Why would your kid have a handgun,” said Godfrey. “I don’t understand. That’s just unbelievable.”
Godfrey says the bullet whizzed by his leg before he ran for help.
