A full day of events is under way in France to mark the 70th anniversary of the d-day invasion.
An amphibious tank came ashore on the Normandy beaches today just like in 1944 when the allies began a massive invasion to drive the Nazis out of France. It changed the course of WWII in Europe.
More than 150-thousand allied troops stormed the beaches by air and by sea. Ceremonies are taking place across the Normandy region, and many of them on the beaches where the allied forces landed.
