TOPEKA, Kan. – The Topeka Swim Association is hosted the 14th Annual Beach Bash, a USA Swimming sanctioned event hosting 560 swimmers of all ages from the Midwest, featuring age group and open timed finals over the weekend. This annual competitive swimming tournament attracts swimmers from as far away as Texas and as close as the KU Women’s Swim Team.
Many of these swimmers have gone to the Olympic Trials and will be competing to qualify for times in order to advance to higher levels. Races include the 400-meter Individual Medley, 400-meter freestyle, 800-meter freestyle and the 1500-meter freestyle among others. Michael Andrews, an Olympic hopeful, also swam at Beach Bash.
Topeka Swim Association is a Bronze Medal Certification team through USSA Swimming, only the top 200 teams in the nation qualify for that level.
