Drivers should use extreme caution overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning as persistent rains are causing areas creeks and streams to rise quickly. Many areas 40 miles either side of I-70 will receive 2-5″ of rainfall before letting up early Tuesday morning.

Nighttime is the most difficult time to discern how flooded roadways have become. Motorists are encouraged to avoid all low-water crossings and not to drive into any water covering the road as the depth may be misleading in the dark.
