TOPEKA – The Topeka Golden Giants and Topeka Senators met for the first time on the diamond with each team coming away with a victory.

Both teams were scheduled to make the series debut on Monday but wet field conditions pushed back the opener. They split Wednesday’s doubleheader with the Golden Giants taking game one 5-2 and the Senators capturing the nightcap 3-2.

Washburn Rural product Riley Landuyt hit a solo home run in game one for the Golden Giants, while former Seaman Viking Ryan Columbo struck out 12 batters for the Senators in a complete game performance.
