(KSNT) Hundreds of bicyclists are making their away across the sunflower state this week. Bike Across Kansas” began last saturday in the southwest town of Elkhart.
This is the 40th year of the bicycle tour that takes participants on a 550-mile trek. The route takes the bikers northeast through Dodge City, Salina, and Junction City and it ends in Highland this Saturday. ater they have a final night together in Hiawatha Friday night.
“Biking Across Kansas promotes not only health and wellness through bicycling but we also promote the culture, the heritage, the history and the landscape of Kansas along with the towns and people.” says Executive Director for Biking Across Kansas Stefanie Weaver.
There are about 900 riders on the trip they range in age from six years old to 88 years old. Today the group heads to Oskaloosa.
