WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A 38-year-old Wichita man accused of trying to kill his wife and two sons will stand trial in Sedgwick County.
Pettix McMillan is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder in the March 24 shootings at the family’s west Wichita home. He’s being held on $1 million and was bound over this week for a trial scheduled to begin July 14.
McMillan is accused of shooting his wife and sons, ages 13 and 5, during a domestic dispute. The wife and the 13-year-old ran to separate neighbors to report the shootings. McMillan was later found in a wooded area near the home.
The three family members are recovering from their wounds.
