Police called to Dollar General on bomb threat

Officers were dispatched at 9:40 Wednesday  night to the Dollar General at 1910 SW 10th for a subject inside the business claiming to have a bomb and that he needed the police.

The store employees evacuated the business and phoned the police.  When officers arrived the subject was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Law Enforcement Center to be interviewed.

The Topeka Police Bomb Unit was called to the scene and deemed the article the subject was claiming to be a bomb was clothing and misc items. The subject was interviewed by detectives and the investigation is ongoing.
