DETROIT (AP) – General Motors is extending its record-breaking string of safety problems, announcing three more recalls that will bring GM’s total for the year to 48.
The largest affects almost 467,000 four-wheel-drive Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, as well as GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban SUVs.
That recall involves transmission problems.
So far this year, recalls by the company have covered more than 20 million vehicles.
Other recalls included the Chevrolet SS and Caprice police cars for windshield wipers, and Chevy Corvettes with defective rear shock absorbers.
