The family of 36-year-old Bryon Snyder released the following statement Tuesday afternoon.
“The prayers and support that the Topeka community has provided Bryon and our family during the past day have been amazing. We truly appreciate the outpouring of support from friends, co-workers, churches and individuals we don’t even know.
Bryon is doing well and his spirits are good. His condition was upgraded from critical to serious today and he remains a patient in the intensive care unit at Stormont-Vail. The outlook for his recovery is very positive.
We cannot say enough about the awesome care and support that Bryon and our family has received from the Stormont-Vail staff. The care started the minute Bryon entered the trauma room up until now.
Bryon celebrated his 36th birthday on Sunday. He is a very gentle, kind, young man. He is an awesome dad and has three beautiful children. His mom and dad and sisters are extremely proud of him. We are not surprised at all by the actions Bryon took Monday. He always has a smile on his face and when someone needs help, he is often the first to step up and ask how he can help.
Thank you to our community for the prayers and support you have shown to Bryon and our family.”
Snyder is an employee of Stormont-Vail HealthCare where he is currently in serious condition.
