WAMEGO, Kan. (KSNT) – It’s the biggest bang in the state of Kansas, the fireworks display in Wamego.
Preparations are underway as more than 35,000 people descend on a city of 5,000.
Volunteers are setting up for the free, family friendly, day long event
“We get a fantastic small town feel out of Wamego,” says Megan Umscheid, executive director of Wamego Chamber. “People want to be a part of that everything from the parade, the carnival, the car show, the fireworks, people want to be a part of that and it makes for a great day long Independence Day celebration.”
Satellite parking is available at the high school football stadium.
Shuttle buses will run from 4 to 9 p.m. and again after the fireworks.
