Fecal matter temporarily shuts down pool at Gage Park

After an accidental fecal contamination yesterday at the Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center, the pool will open for regular business today at Noon.  The facility will be open from Noon-7 p.m.

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center at Gage Park has been temporarily closed down.

According to Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Spokesperson Jennifer Wegener says the pool has been closed due to fecal contamination.

The incident happened mid-afternoon on Friday.

New chemicals are being put in the pool and have to reach certain levels before it can re-open.

Shawnee County Parks and Recreation hope to have the pool back up and running by noon on Saturday.
