Aggravated burglary in Ogden

OGDEN (KSNT) – Two men are in the Riley County Jail following a 911 call about a home burglary. A burglary that left one man stabbed, twice.

The men entered the apartment on Sunday night allegedly to burglarize it.

There were two people inside, a man and a woman, and shortly after 22-year-old Vincent Taylor was stabbed once in the face and once in the neck.

“The one positive that could have come out of this is these suspect and victim knew each other which helped us to an arrest much quicker,” Riley County PIO Matthew Droge said.

38-year-old Johnny Cossey and 43-year-old Timothy Holmes are in the Riley County Jail facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.

Residents of the apartment complex say they weren’t surprised to find the police here when they got home last night.

Neighbors tell Kansas First News it’s not the first time police have been called there. A few weeks ago there was another stabbing.

“Yeah there’s a lot of activity going on for sure but I don’t know I stay out of it, I got a career to worry about,” neighbor Desarae Jolley said.

The victim was treated at the scene and will make a full recovery.

Johnny Cossey is being held on $1 million bond, while Timothy Holmes is being held on $500,000 bond.
