TOPEKA (KSNT) – Sports and Special Olympics will come together at Washburn Rural High School. The project was created by Special Olympians in 2008 to increase athletic and leadership opportunities within the community.

The unified sports team allows students with, and without, intellectual disabilities to compete together on the same team.

There are currently ten schools in Kansas with a unified sports program.
