Firefighters battle blaze in Manhattan

MANHATTAN  (KSNT) – A fire at a vacant house kept Manhattan firefighters busy late Monday night.

According to the Manhattan Fire Department, just before 11:30, the MFD was dispatched to 831 Colorado Street for a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews found a single story residential structure with smoke and fire showing from the rear area of the structure.  Six fire apparatus and 17firefighters initially responded to the fire and it was contained within 20 minutes.

The structure was vacant at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
