100+ mail boxes destroyed by vandals in SE Topeka

Mail Boxes - Tim Smith

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Shawnee County Sheriff’s deputies spent much of Sunday trying to track down vandals who destroyed more than 75 US mail boxes overnight Saturday.

Authorities say the first call that something was wrong came in about 6:15 a.m. Sunday morning at 3900 SE 30th Terrace. As people began waking up, the affected area began expanding to several blocks around that location.

Investigators tell Kansas First News they have no immediate suspects, but spent much of the day taking statements from victims who awoke to find their mail boxes knocked over. ###
