Woman sustains serious injuries after domestic disturbance


At 5:32 Wednesday morning Topeka Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of SW Warren in reference a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival officers discovered evidence of a struggle between a man and a woman. The woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her identity will not be released at this time pending notification of family members.

The man has been identified as 26-year-old Edmund Alexander Hamlin. Hamlin was transported to the Law Enforcement Center and interviewed by detectives. He was later transported to the Shawnee County Jail and booked in on a charge of Attempted Murder in the second degree.
