WICHITA (KSNT)– Deputies responded to a rollover accident of an older model pickup truck that occurred shortly before 1a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of 103st S. and Broadway.
Sgt. Justin Antle said that when officers arrived at the scene, two people were located with life-threatening injuries near the wreckage.
The two victims were transported to St. Francis Hospital where they were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Accident reconstruction was on the scene and determined that speed was a factor in the accident and that both victims were thrown from the vehicle.
Officers said that neither of the victims was wearing a safety harness at the time and that could have been a reason why both were ejected from the vehicle.
Antle also said that another factor could have been the change in ground surface, as the road changes from pavement to dirt road.
