National Health Center Week Celebrated with Farmer’s Market and Health Screenings

August 11th -16th  marks National Health Center Week, a week to celebrate the work of Safety Net Clinics across the United States.

In recognition of the week, the Shawnee County Health Agency’s – Community Health Center (SCHA-CHC) will be hosting a Farmer’s Market on Tuesday, August 12th. The market will be held in the parking lot of the California Clinic, 2025 SE California from 5:00-7:00 pm. The event is open to the public.

In addition to produce vendors, there will also be food demonstrations. The Topeka Lions Club will be on hand from 3-7 p.m. offering health screenings such as vision, hearing, blood pressure and glucose testing.

The Community Health Center provides primary care, women’s health, maternal and infant and behavioral health services in an integratedand patient centered environment that promotes quality care.
