St. Joseph pastor wins primary in 6th District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A St. Joseph pastor has defeated two Democratic challengers to advance to the November general election in Missouri’s 6th Congressional District.

W.A. “Bill” Hedge defeated Gary Crose of Gladstone and Edward Fields of Kansas City in Tuesday’s Democratic primary. Hedge advances after losing the 2012 primary to Kyle Yarber.

Hedge will face U.S. Rep. Sam Graves of Tarkio, who had three challengers in the Republican primary. The 14-year incumbent is seeking an eighth term in Congress.
